At its meeting on December 18 the Congregation Council approved Pastor Roger Storms to serve as Good Shepherd’s interim pastor. Pastor Storms is trained as an intentional interim and brings his special training and skills to Good Shepherd. He officially begins his work on Monday, December 19. His plan is to spend time in the office each weekday and is already hard at work making plans to move us forward.
Pastor Storms was born and raised in Berkley, Michigan, a near north suburb of Detroit. He graduated from the Monteith (now Reid) College of Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan with a B.A. and Northwestern Lutheran Theological (now Luther) Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota with a M.Div. He worked professionally for Chrysler Motor Corporation in Detroit, Michigan. He served congregations in the mid-western states of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana with a side trip to North Carolina. Currently retired, he recently completed serving a congregation as an intentional interim pastor. He and his wife, Marge, have been married for thirty-seven years and have two children, Jessica (Charlotte) and Michael (Indianapolis), and three grandchildren. They reside in northwestern Charlotte.
Good Shepherd is excited to welcome Pastor Storms and his leadership among us as we move forward in ministry together.
