God’s work. Our Hands. This tagline provides the basis of our ministry, people working together to do God’s work with our hands. The ministries of Good Shepherd are many and varied.
- Beautification maintains and beautifies the church grounds.
- Church Property maintains the church edifice and oversees repairs and facility issues.
- Evangelism promotes and provides measures to welcome people into the church.
- Faith Formation provides opportunities for growing faith of everyone from cradle to grave through Sunday school, Bible studies, and other spiritual and educational programs.
- Nursery provides a safe and loving environment for children from birth through age three during worship working under the oversight of Faith Formation.
- Youth provides programs, fellowship, outreach and educational opportunities for children from grades 3-12 under the oversight of Faith Formation.
- Finance maintains proper financial practices, provides oversight and prepares the annual budget.
- Audit counts and deposits offerings under supervision of Congregation Council members.
- Endowment invests and distributes dividends from endowment in accordance of established guidelines for mission within and beyond the congregation.
- New Members provides welcome packets and helps new members become integrated within the life of the congregation.
- Parish Life provides fellowship opportunities for the congregation.
- Shepherds Ministry provides care for sick, homebound, bereaved and members in need through visits, meals, cards, flowers and other remembrances.
- Social Ministry is the outreach arm of the congregation supporting missions with the congregation, community, synod and world.
- Stewardship educates congregation in stewardship of daily living through growth in faith and spiritual discipline of giving of time, talent and treasure.
- Worship and Music coordinates with pastoral and music staff to plan worship, recruits and trains worship assistants.
- Altar Guild prepares the worship space for worship, maintains worship accouterments and orders supplies.
- Chrismon makes Chrismon ornaments and prepares the church for Christmas and Easter.
