Mt. Holly Community Garden says thanks for support

Dear friends at Good Shepherd,

On behalf of the Mount Holly Community Garden Committee, thank you so very much for your wonderful financial gift of $2,000. We are honored that you have shown such support for our project, and we promise you this gift will enhance our garden’s beauty and bounty of vegetables!

Recipients of our produce are the Mount Holly Community Relief Organization and the Mount Holly Meals on Wheels program. These organizations will be the conduit to provide much needed healthy produce to the less fortunate and elderly. We took five strawberries (yes, FIVE strawberries) to the Meals on Wheels Center as the very first harvest from our garden! The coordinator, Jennifer, was so excited to know there will be much produce in the future. Three beds are designated for these two organizations.

Many of our gardeners will also be donating their produce to these entities. Each gardener is encouraged to give 10% of their harvest to an organization, an elderly person in their church or neighborhood, or someone they know may be in need. How exciting!

To acknowledge your gift, we hope to place a plaque or appropriate sign in the garden. We welcome your visit to the garden and would be proud to give you a tour.

In closing, please accept our thanks. God has truly blessed our garden and we feel we can make a real difference in our community. Our garden blessing ends with “… May the hungry be fed here, strangers become friends here, and community be grown here. May the garden bless and be blessed…” Thanks to your gift our blessing and prayer will be more loudly heard throughout our community.
